The story behind the bowl
Founded in 1899 by Fujian-born Chen Ping Shun, Shikairo created champon as an affordable, nourishing meal for Chinese students. The pork-and-chicken soup, seafood, vegetables and distinctive noodles make this a living piece of Nagasaki's port history.
